Catherine Taber completes the celebrity guest line-up for Star Wars Weekends

Catherine Taber, voice artist from ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’, will be taking up the final slot in the celebrity line-up for this year’s Star Wars Weekends. She will be appearing June 1 to June 3 2012.

Here is the full line-up as it currently stands.

Weekend I (May 18 – 20)

Ray Park – (Darth Maul – Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace)
Jerome Blake (Rune Haako/Mas Amedda – Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace)

Soarin Issue

Epcot’s most popular attraction, Soarin’, was temporarily closed for urgent maintenance after a guest managed to exit the glider prior to take off, which has now raised questions about how the guest circumvented the restraint system. Although there were no injuries, Soarin’ at Disney’s California Adventure has also been closed pending the investigation. With Test Track also closed, you can be sure that Disney was working flat-out to get Soarin’ back in the air. It seams the ride was only closed for around a day.

Eat To The Beat

Disney has today announced the official lineup for this year’s ‘Eat to the Beat Concert Series’. The concerts are part of the International Food and Wine Festival, and are included with your Epcot park admission. The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will run from September 28 – November 11, 2012.

Duffy Bear $$

Remember back when Duffy arrived stateside in late 2010? A lot of Internet discussion centered around Duffy being a short-lived craze that would not gain any real traction. Well, here we are in 2012, and Duffy is still going strong with both merchandising and his meet and greet location in Epcot’s World Showcase.

In fact, Disney has now been forced to introduce a Duffy merchandise sales cap on all Duffy merchandise being sold in the parks and online. Guests will now be restricted to a maximum of 5 same-item Duffy purchases. A similar scheme has already been in place at Tokyo Disneyland, where the limit is 3 items. The new sales-cap begins this Sunday, May 6 2012.

Car Masters Weekend

Car Masters Weekend is confirmed to be returning to Downtown Disney this summer, on June 2 and June 3 2012. Launched last year, Car Masters Weekend celebrates the “Cars” movies with meet and greets with Lightning McQueen, Mater, and Finn McMissile

Events for this year include:

a movie marathon at AMC Downtown Disney 24 with showings of “Cars” and “Cars 2.”
an appearance by automotive designer Chip Foose, who contributed to the design of Ramone in the “Cars” film.
a LEGO interactive zone.
“Cars”-themed topiaries.
a DJ and food trucks.
an appearance by Jay Ward, Cars guardian.
a chance for guests to test-drive Ridemakerz model cars.
a car show presented by Hess that will feature more than 100 classic, muscle and exotic cars.

Merida starting to Appear

Merida from Disney-Pixar’s “Brave” will be appearing in the Magic Kingdom on a limited basis from May 11 to May 17 2012. Her location will be just outside what will become her new permanent home in the Fairytale Gardens. The full meet and greet experience is expected to open in the Fairytale Garden on May 18 2012.
